Pile Driving

Foundation piling to carry structures through soft coastal clay and pegasse down to firmer ground.

Engineered foundations for Guyana's coastal soils.

Much of our coastland sits at or below high-tide level, protected by the seawall and drained by kokers and canals. Beneath it lies soft marine clay with pockets of pegasse that settle and hold water.

  1. Assess the groundWe review soil conditions, drainage and access before a single pile is pitched.
  2. Drive to firm bearingTimber, steel and sheet piles are driven through the soft layers to firmer strata.
  3. Keep the site dryDrains and culverts are built alongside the foundation so the structure stays where it was built.

Drainage and water management.

On the coast, drainage works with the tide. Kokers open at low tide to let field water out to sea, and close at high tide to keep the Atlantic from coming back in. Blocked drains and silted canals mean flooded yards and weakened foundations.

We dig, clean and build the drains, trenches and culverts that let that system do its job, on your lot, your scheme or your farm.
